Like many, I was drawn in by the good reviews & beautiful appearance of the pastries & the shop itself. Stars for friendly/ welcoming service, good location (right off La Rambla, very close to La Boqueria) & appearance. Sadly, however, the prices are pretty ridiculous, & the actual flavor/ freshness of the pastries was completely disappointing.

I paid €15.25 for a pistachio mini-cake (basically the size of a large cupcake: see photo), a “peanut butter & jelly” kronut & an espresso. #HighwayRobbery

The kronut was DAYS old. Hard & stale tasting, not light & crispy the way a true cronut should be (…& I’ve had Ansel’s, who invented them in NYC). The name itself is a fusion of croissant & donut. This tasted like neither. It was more like a rock made of wheat flour, dressed up to look pretty on top. Fail.

The pistachio cake was not much better. Maybe I accidentally got the vegan cake, but I ordered the regular. Anyway, the cake tasted dry & old (again) & even the buttercream frosting was kind of “meh”.

The pastries LOOK spectacular, but this is not a fine art gallery. These treats are meant to be EATEN, especially at this price point. Again, very nice people working here, but feels very much like a tourist-trap spot that can get away with low-quality, because they know repeat customers are the exception.

Unfortunately I’ll be tossing my purchases after a couple bites, & chalking up my lost €15 to “lesson learned”. Maybe next time (if there is a next time…) I’ll just buy whatever the chef is currently working on in the back (cool touch), to ensure it’s...

Absolutely mind blowing disappointment!!! I truly can’t believe what I have experienced… Pastry cheesecake special bun was dry, cookies hard like a bone (no moisture). God, where have those reviews come from with the overall score?! We literally researched & especially planned to be able to consume those well deserved calories to find out this disastrous place! I am truly upset! Wait a second, after escalating our concerns about the products, staff member said sorry and carried on talking to other people (he didn’t care much)! Prices are crazy, not worth it and actually I would be embarrassed to charge customers for those products!!! Ps. I was planning to make a massive post on the IG with the pictures I take before entering the shop (in positive manner), but now I am shocked and stunned by overall experience… Disappointed, IS...

Food: the cake was mouthwatering just from looking at everything, doughnuts are just art that is hard to destroy by eating, and then anything else is beyond Devine

Recommend the black forest cake and the 6 perllin set of your choice (whichever you choose you won't disappoint all are absolutely amazing) Service : From details of product to recommendation to packaging all are above and beyond service and high quality and very strong attention to detail. Can't recommend enough this place. Atmosphere: mostly meant for takeouts even though there are small seats available which is greatly appreciated since it's a small location but full of wonderful treats that heal any bad day or treat for a good occasion no matter what the reason this place has...

The kronuts and nice to look at and tasty too! I've tried the original kronuts from new York and have to say I prefer these much more. They are not filled and therefore not as sweet. You also get more choice of flavors vs just the flavor of the month at Dominique Ansel. These also are less greasy. Not as flakey and crunchy, yes, but in fact the consistency is more like a croissant donut than the overly crisp and oily one at Dominique Ansel. They also have e a filled donut that I haven't tried. Highly recommend the one with strawberry chocolate cake on top! Also the staff here is extremely helpful and friendly. They were very patient in explaining the flavors to me. Love it!
